Good to know before you start.
Which products can shoppers try on?
Sunglasses, glasses, earrings and hats are tried on the face. Watches and bracelets are tried on the wrist, and rings on the hand. Bags, shoes, necklaces and anything else can be placed in the shopper’s own room at real size with AR. Each product gets the right experience from the type you choose.
Do shoppers need an app?
No. Everything opens in the phone or laptop browser from a link, a QR code or a button on your store. Face, wrist and hand try-on use the device camera with the shopper’s permission. Room AR uses the viewer already built into iPhone and Android.
Where do the 3D models come from?
You upload them as GLB (best), GLTF or USDZ files, up to 100 MB each. They can come from your product designer, a CAD export or a 3D modelling or scanning service. ARView does not create the models. A product without a model still gets a page with its photo, and you can add the model later.
How accurate is the try-on?
It follows the face, wrist or hand live and sizes, positions and rotates the product to match. Faces also turn in 3D. It works best in decent light with the camera facing the shopper. It does not hide parts behind the ear or under a sleeve, and each product has fit sliders so you can correct size and position once. We recommend testing a few products on your own phone before you launch.
Can I put it on my Shopify store?
Yes. Paste one line of code into your theme and a “Try on in AR” button appears on the product pages whose handle matches a product in ARView. It works the same on WooCommerce and any other website. A native Shopify app that installs from the App Store is planned for later; the code snippet will keep working.
Does the camera image get uploaded?
No. Tracking runs in the shopper’s browser and the camera image stays on their device. We only count that a try-on happened, so you can see it in your analytics.
What about clothing?
Accessories come first because browser try-on is convincing for them today. Clothing try-on is planned and will arrive as a clearly labelled beta. Until then, tops, dresses and jackets can still be shown in 3D and AR in the shopper’s room.
How does the free trial work?
Fourteen days, no card required, with every feature. After that it is $79 per month for up to 100 products. If you do not subscribe, your pages are paused and nothing is deleted.
